The County Government of Nakuru has assured the business community that it is supporting policies and legislation that facilitate a stable, predictable and conducive environment for businesses and investments to thrive.

The county is investing Sh316 million in early 2026 to rehabilitate and expand water networks, targeting over 100,000 households in Nakuru City and surrounding areas like Rhonda, Kaptembwa, and Manyani. On Roads & Transportation, Ongoing projects include the expansion of the Rironi-Nakuru-Mau Summit highway. The NSSF has defended its investment in this toll road project, which is designed to boost connectivity. The construction of the Lanet Airport is ongoing, aiming to facilitate the direct export of agricultural produce.

Nakuru County Government has set up an investment board to seek investors from Western countries and Africa to tap into investment opportunities in the region. According to Governor Susan Kihika, the team is tasked with establishing multi-billion shilling projects, including new industries to address high unemployment rates in the county as well as market the region’s tourism potential.
